Our work is an attempt to realise this vision and to produce buildings that are ahead of their time.

By working together from the outset, we learn from one another and combine our knowledge to devise fully integrated design solutions.

DG.61 - APARTMENT BUILDING
16 Apartment Units
2.500 Square Meters
20 Parking Spaces
Set within a tranquil, tree-lined neighborhood, DG.61 is a boutique mid-rise residential development that redefines contemporary urban living through a lens of warmth and geometric precision. The five-story structure asserts a confident modern presence while remaining highly respectful of its human-scaled context. By emphasizing deep thresholds and a rich, tactile material palette, the project offers an intimate and elevated living experience.
The building’s massing is defined by a rigorous yet elegant grid system. The facade is visually organized through a strong interplay of horizontal and vertical elements, creating a sense of woven structural framing.
The Grid / Prominent, continuous horizontal bands define each floor line, grounding the building and emphasizing its breadth. These are intersected by pronounced vertical piers, breaking the facade down into distinct, legible residential bays.
Volumetric Depth / Rather than a flat elevation, the design employs deep, recessed loggias. A central, dark-clad vertical volume acts as a visual hinge, slightly recessing to break the primary massing and subtly divide the building’s frontage, creating a more approachable scale from the street.
Warm Wood-Tones / The vertical piers and the inner linings of the balconies are wrapped in rich, wood-finish paneling. This strategic application of wood texture introduces an organic, welcoming warmth that contrasts beautifully with the minimalist white and dark elements, drawing the eye inward toward the private living spaces.
Charcoal & Shadow / The recessed central core and secondary exterior walls are clad in matte dark grey. This acts as a visual shadow, enhancing the three-dimensionality of the protruding balconies and making the lighter materials stand out.
A central thesis of the design is the elevation of the private outdoor space. The deep, wood-lined balconies function as traditional loggias—sheltered, open-air rooms that seamlessly extend the interior living areas. The pronounced overhangs provide excellent passive solar shading, cooling the interiors during the summer while allowing lower winter sun to penetrate the floor-to-ceiling fenestration.
The ground level is thoughtfully designed to transition smoothly from the public streetscape to the private domestic realm. A low-profile perimeter fence, combined with a buffer of manicured evergreens and indigenous landscaping, ensures privacy for the lower-level units while contributing positively to the neighborhood's green canopy.
